What makes The Furry B&B different from traditional dog boarding facilities?
The Furry B&B is a private, kennel‑free dog boarding experience in Round Rock, Texas, designed for dogs who feel safest in a quiet, predictable environment. Instead of kennels, loud playrooms, or rotating staff, each guest enjoys their own private, climate‑controlled cottage and receives gentle, individualized care.
This low‑stress setup is ideal for dogs who prefer personal space, structure, and a peaceful place to relax.
What types of dogs are a good fit for The Furry B&B?
Many of the dogs who stay here are sensitive or easily overwhelmed in busy boarding settings. The Furry B&B is especially well‑suited for dogs who:
Prefer to be the only dog
Are shy, anxious, or easily overstimulated
Don’t enjoy group play or high‑energy environments
Thrive with one consistent caregiver
Need a quiet, structured routine to feel secure.
If your dog struggles in traditional boarding facilities, this environment is often a wonderful match.
Who will be caring for my dog?
Every dog is cared for exclusively by me — no rotating staff, no unfamiliar handlers, and no shift changes. This consistency helps dogs settle in, build trust, and feel secure throughout their stay.
Care & Comfort
How do you handle dog‑to‑dog interactions and safety?
The Furry B&B is intentionally designed for private, individualized stays. Dogs do not share spaces or participate in group activities.
Instead, each guest enjoys:
Their own private cottage
Private outdoor time
One‑on‑one enrichment and attention
A calm, low‑stimulation environment
This approach supports emotional safety and prevents stress for dogs who prefer personal space.
How do you support anxious, shy, or reactive dogs during their stay?
Many of my guests are anxious, noise‑sensitive, or easily overstimulated. With years of hands‑on shelter and behavioral experience, I focus on creating a peaceful, structured environment where dogs can decompress at their own pace.
Support may include:
Slow, consent‑based introductions
Predictable routines
Low‑stimulation spaces
Gentle handling
Respect for boundaries and comfort levels.
If your dog has specific behavioral needs, please share details during your inquiry so I can ensure this is the right fit.
Do you accept intact dogs?
Yes — intact dogs are welcome at The Furry B&B. Because all stays are private and individualized, intact status does not affect any other dogs.
Do you accept puppies or senior dogs?
Yes. Puppies and seniors are welcome as long as their needs can be safely supported in a home‑like, one‑on‑one environment. If your dog has specific routines or limitations, feel free to share them during your inquiry.
Do you accept dogs with medical needs?
I can accommodate dogs with general medical needs that do not require professional veterinary training. If your dog needs specialized medical care or monitoring, I recommend boarding with your veterinarian to ensure they receive the level of support they need.
Health & Safety
What can I expect during my dog’s first stay?
The first day or night in a new environment can feel a little overwhelming for some dogs. I spend extra time helping each guest settle in gently — offering comfort, routine, and plenty of reassurance. Most dogs relax quickly once they realize the space is quiet, predictable, and safe.
What vaccinations are required?
For everyone’s safety, all dogs staying at The Furry B&B must be up to date on their annual core vaccinations. This helps ensure a healthy, low‑risk environment for every guest.
Do you administer medications?
Yes — I’m happy to administer oral medications and supplements exactly as directed. I am not able to administer injectable medications. If your dog requires medical care beyond this, I’m glad to help you determine whether a veterinary boarding facility may be a better fit.
What happens in an emergency?
If an emergency arises, I will always try to reach you first. If I’m unable to reach you quickly, I will contact your designated emergency contact. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are my top priority, and I will act promptly to ensure they receive appropriate care.
Do you offer daycare?
The Furry B&B specializes in private overnight boarding rather than traditional daycare. This allows me to maintain a calm, low‑stimulation environment for each guest and provide the individualized attention many dogs need.
Planning Your Dog’s Stay
What should I pack, and what do you provide?
You’ll receive a detailed packing guide before your dog’s stay, but most families bring:
Your dog’s regular food (to avoid tummy upset)
Any medications or supplements
Optional comfort items such as a blanket, toy, or one of your t‑shirts
I provide:
A private, climate‑controlled cottage
Fresh bedding
Enrichment activities
Walks and potty breaks
One‑on‑one attention
A calm, structured routine
You’re always welcome to bring any familiar items if they help your dog feel more at home.
What are your drop‑off and pick‑up times?
Drop‑off times are flexible, but most families arrive between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM so dogs have plenty of time to settle in before evening. Pick‑ups are typically completed before noon.
All drop‑offs and pick‑ups are by appointment only, which helps keep the environment calm and predictable for the dogs.
Do you offer meet‑and‑greets?
Meet‑and‑greets are optional but often helpful for dogs who are shy, anxious, or slow to warm up to new people. A short visit can make drop‑off day feel easier and more familiar. They’re not required, but they can be a great way to help sensitive dogs settle in smoothly.
What are your booking and cancellation policies?
A 50% deposit is required to reserve your dog’s stay.
Cancellations made 30 days or more before drop‑off receive a full refund.
Cancellations made less than 30 days before drop‑off are non‑refundable and cannot be applied to future stays.
Cancellations made within 14 days of drop‑off will be billed for the entire stay.
Early pick‑ups are billed for the entire reserved stay, as that time was held exclusively for your dog.
These policies help ensure availability for families who need care and allow me to maintain a low‑capacity, individualized boarding experience.
